DevTools: Code AI — Global Fix Map
A small hub to stabilize IDE code assistants without touching your infra. Use this to jump to the right per-tool page, then verify fixes with measurable targets.
Quick routes (per tool)
- GitHub Copilot: github_copilot.md
- VS Code Copilot Chat: vscode_copilot_chat.md
- Cursor: cursor.md
- Sourcegraph Cody: sourcegraph_cody.md
- Codeium: codeium.md
- Tabnine: tabnine.md
- AWS CodeWhisperer: aws_codewhisperer.md
- JetBrains AI Assistant: jetbrains_ai_assistant.md
When to use this folder
- IDE plugins misalign during RAG integration: results show high similarity but the semantics are wrong.
- JSON tools return inconsistently: objects fluctuate between valid and broken.
- Multi-step generation runs too long, and answers flip across different executions.
- Local fragments are correctly selected, but citations don’t match the actual paragraphs.
- After multiple agents hand over tasks, memory namespaces conflict or overwrite each other.
Open these first
- Visual map and recovery: RAG Architecture & Recovery
- End-to-end retrieval knobs: Retrieval Playbook
- Traceability schema: Retrieval Traceability
- Snippet and citation schema: Data Contracts
- Ordering and rerank: Rerankers
- Embedding vs meaning: Embedding ≠ Semantic
- Long chains: Context Drift, Entropy Collapse
- Prompt security: Prompt Injection
- Multi-agent: Multi-Agent Problems
Acceptance targets
- ΔS(question, retrieved) ≤ 0.45
- Coverage ≥ 0.70 to the target section
- λ remains convergent across 3 paraphrases and 2 seeds
- E_resonance stays flat on long windows
60-second fix checklist
-
Measure ΔS
Compute ΔS(question, retrieved) and ΔS(retrieved, expected anchor). Stable < 0.40, transitional 0.40–0.60, risk ≥ 0.60. -
Probe λ_observe
Vary top-k and prompt headers. If λ flips, lock the schema and clamp with BBAM. -
Apply the module
- Retrieval drift → BBMC + Data Contracts
- Reasoning collapse → BBCR bridge + BBAM
- Dead ends in long runs → BBPF alternate paths
- Verify
Coverage ≥ 0.70 on three paraphrases. λ convergent on two seeds.
Map symptoms → structural fixes
- Wrong-meaning with high similarity → Embedding ≠ Semantic
- Citations mismatch or untraceable → Retrieval Traceability
- Payload schema drift → Data Contracts
- Hybrid retrieval worse than single → Pattern: Query Parsing Split, Rerankers
- Tool loop or agent handoff stalls → Multi-Agent Problems
Copy-paste prompt for IDE chat
I uploaded TXT OS and WFGY Problem Map.
My IDE assistant issue:
* symptom: \[brief]
* traces: ΔS(question,retrieved)=..., ΔS(retrieved,anchor)=..., λ across 3 paraphrases
Tell me:
1. failing layer and why,
2. which WFGY page to open,
3. minimal steps to push ΔS ≤ 0.45 and keep λ convergent,
4. a reproducible test to verify.
Use BBMC, BBPF, BBCR, BBAM when relevant.
