NOURELDEEN ELSAYED 54111c24b6 Modernize Community build and remove legacy services
This commit removes legacy Firebase/FCM and AnBui integration, simplifies the app’s analytics and engagement flow, and updates branding and URLs to the maintained GitHub Community Version. It adds bundled Terms of Service and Privacy Policy documents, improves the QEMU installation/setup flow with archive validation, ABI split packaging, and safer TAR extraction, and refreshes the README and app version metadata. The changes also remove deprecated store/search ad flags and clean up launcher assets and Android manifest entries for the new Community build.

Vectras VM — Terms of Service

Last updated: October 8, 2026

1. Scope and project contact

These terms describe the conditions for using this maintained build of Vectras VM and its project-provided download and information features. Vectras VM is an open-source Android application for configuring and running virtual machines, importing and exporting virtual disks and ROM packages, and using a local Linux environment and terminal.

Project source: https://github.com/xoureldeen/Vectras-VM-Android Project download metadata: https://github.com/xoureldeen/vectras-vm-bucket Contact: noureldeenelsayed1212@gmail.com

Please read these terms and the Privacy Policy before using the application. These terms do not replace or restrict rights granted by the applicable open-source licenses, and viewing this document is not a separate acceptance or account-registration process.

2. Software licenses and third-party content

The repository includes the GNU General Public License, version 2. Individual components, libraries, emulators, drivers, and other bundled or downloaded software may carry their own licenses. The repository LICENSE file, relevant source notices, and the application's Open source licenses screen identify applicable licensing information. If these terms conflict with an applicable open-source license, that license controls the licensed software.

Operating systems, games, applications, firmware, virtual disks, and drivers do not become freely licensed merely because the application can import or download them. You are responsible for obtaining any required licenses and permissions. A store listing, download link, or verification badge is not proof of ownership, a license grant, a malware audit, or a guarantee of compatibility.

3. Responsible and lawful use

Use the application and third-party resources in accordance with applicable law and the rights of others. Do not use project-provided resources to distribute unlawful content, infringe intellectual-property rights, access systems without authorization, or intentionally harm other users or services.

You are responsible for the files you import, the programs and commands you execute, and the virtual-machine settings you choose. Only load software from sources you trust. Custom terminal commands and QEMU parameters can change files, expose network services, consume significant resources, or make a virtual machine unusable.

4. Local files, backups, and security

Virtual disks, ROM packages, shared folders, configuration files, and terminal data are stored on your device. Maintain independent backups before importing, converting, replacing, editing, exporting, or deleting important files. Uninstalling the app or clearing its data may remove app-managed files; files saved elsewhere may remain.

Emulation is not a promise of a secure sandbox. Guest software, terminal commands, and configured integrations may access resources made available to them. Clipboard synchronization, shared folders, networking, port forwarding, and remote-display settings can expose data beyond a guest. Avoid enabling access that you do not need, and do not expose unprotected services to untrusted networks.

The app does not provide a managed cloud backup or file-recovery service. Android or your device vendor may separately back up eligible app data, depending on your settings and device.

5. Online features and external services

The app may retrieve store catalogs, update information, contributor profiles, legal documents, QEMU archives, graphics packages, and other files from GitHub or the providers selected by published metadata. Linux package installation may contact configured package mirrors. Core setup also uses bundled bootstrap and Alpine assets, and a local QEMU archive can be selected instead of an online download.

External providers control their services, files, availability, retention practices, and terms. Downloads may change or become unavailable. Review the destination and its policies before downloading files, opening external links, or providing information. A checksum, where supplied and checked, helps detect a file mismatch; it does not establish that software is safe or authorized for distribution.

The project does not guarantee uninterrupted downloads, permanent store listings, compatibility with every Android device or operating system, any specific performance level, or delivery of future updates. Store descriptions and availability information can become outdated.

6. Support and privacy

Support is provided on a best-effort basis without a promised response time. The About screen can open your email application with device information in a draft; sending that draft is your choice. Do not send passwords, private keys, confidential virtual disks, or unnecessary personal information. Review logs and screenshots before sharing them, particularly in public issues.

The Privacy Policy explains local storage, network requests, optional sharing, permissions, Android backup, and third-party services for this build. Other forks or modified builds may behave differently.

7. Disclaimers and limits of liability

To the extent permitted by applicable law and consistent with the applicable software licenses, the application and project-provided resources are offered as available, without a promise that they are error-free, secure against every threat, suitable for a particular purpose, or compatible with your files and device.

Emulation, disk operations, downloaded software, and configuration changes can cause crashes, data loss, corruption, device-resource exhaustion, or unexpected results. To the extent permitted by applicable law, maintainers and contributors are not responsible for losses arising from those risks or from third-party software and services.

Nothing in these terms excludes a right, remedy, warranty, or liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited, including mandatory consumer protections. These terms do not override the warranty and liability provisions of applicable open-source licenses.

8. Changes and ending use

The application, metadata, and these documents may be updated as the project changes. Revised terms will carry an updated date in the source repository and may be displayed in the app. Changes do not retroactively remove rights granted by applicable licenses or mandatory law.

You may stop using the application at any time. Before uninstalling or clearing data, export or back up files you want to keep. Removing the app does not remove files previously shared with other people or services, or necessarily remove files and backups stored outside app-managed storage.

9. Questions
