This PR reworks how Zed calculates diff num stats by moving the
calculation to the `RepositorySnapshot` layer, instead of the
`GitPanel`. This has a couple of benefits:
1. Snapshot recalculations are already set up to recompute on file
system changes and only update the affected files. This means that diff
stats don't need to manage their own subscription or states anymore like
they did in the original PR.
2. We're able to further separate the data layer from the UI. Before,
the git panel owned all the subscriptions and tasks that refreshed the
diff stat, now the repository does, which is more inline with the code
base.
3. Integration tests are cleaner because `FakeRepository` can handle all
the data and calculations of diff stat and make it accessible to more
tests in the codebase. Because a lot of tests wouldn't initialize the
git panel when they used the git repository.
4. This made implementing remote/collab support for this feature
streamline. Remote clients wouldn't get the same buffer events as local
clients, so they wouldn't know that the diff stat state has been updated
and invalidate their data.
5. File system changes that happened outside of Zed now trigger the diff
stat refresh because we're using the `RepositorySnapshot`.
I added some integration tests as well to make sure collab support is
working this time. Finally, adding the initial diff calculation to
`compute_snapshot` didn't affect performance for me when checking
against chromium's diff with HEAD~1000. So this should be a safe change
to make.
I decided to add diff stats on the status entry struct because it made
updating changed paths and the collab database much simpler than having
two separate SumTrees. Also whenever the UI got a file's status it would
check its diff stat as well, so this change makes that code more
streamlined as well.

to some changes to latest macOS Tahoe, for any spawned child process we
needed to reset Mach exception ports

* the changes in that PR achieve that via `pre_exec` hook on
`std::process::Command` which then abandons `posix_spawn` syscall for
`fork` + `execve` dance on macOS (we tracked it down in Rust's std
implementation)
* as it turns out, `fork` + `execve` is pretty expensive on macOS
(apparently way more so than on other OSes like Linux) and `fork` takes
a process-wide lock on the allocator which is bad
* however, since we wanna reset exception ports on the child, the only
official way supported by Rust's std is to use `pre_exec` hook
* posix_spawn on macOS exposes this tho via a macOS specific extension
to that syscall `posix_spawnattr_setexceptionports_np` but there is no
way to use that via any standard interfaces in `std::process::Command`
* thus, it seemed like a good idea to instead create our own custom
Command wrapper that on non-macOS hosts is a zero-cost wrapper of
`smol::process::Command`, while on macOS we reimplement the minimum to
achieve `smol::process::Command` with `posix_spawn` under-the-hood
Notably, this changeset improves git-blame in very large repos
significantly.

This PR updates the deprecated `rootPath` field in the LSP
`InitializeParams` for backwards compatibility with language servers
that still rely on this field.
### Issue
Some language servers (notably the Salesforce Apex Language Server) only
read from the deprecated `rootPath` field in the LSP initialize request
and do not use `rootUri` or `workspaceFolders`.
When Zed sends `root_path: None`, these language servers fail to
initialize because they cannot determine the workspace root.
Example error from the Apex Language Server:

The Apex LSP's initialize handler does:

### Fix
Derive `rootPath` from the existing `root_uri` field when building the
initialize params. The LSP spec states that if both `rootPath` and
`rootUri` are provided, `rootUri` wins, so this change should be
backwards compatible and won't affect language servers that properly use
`rootUri`<sup>(1)</sup>.

Per the JSON-RPC specification, `params` "MUST be provided as a
Structured value" or the member "MAY be omitted." See specification
here: https://www.jsonrpc.org/specification#request_object
The code was passing in unit `()` for params which serde_json was
serializing to `null` which is not valid.
This pulls request adds an `is_unit` function and annotates the `params`
fields in the `Request` and `Notification` structs with the following:
```rs
#[serde(default, skip_serializing_if = "is_unit")]
```
so that the field will be omitted if the type is unit. This does also introduce a `'static` bound to these structs.

## Motivation
This PR unifies the async execution infrastructure between GPUI and
other components that depend on the `scheduler` crate (such as our cloud
codebase). By having a scheduler that lives independently of GPUI, we
can enable deterministic testing across the entire stack - testing GPUI
applications alongside cloud services with a single, unified scheduler.
## Summary
This PR completes the integration of the `scheduler` crate into GPUI,
unifying async execution and enabling deterministic testing of GPUI
combined with other components that depend on the scheduler crate.
## Key Changes
### Scheduler Integration (Phases 1-5, previously completed)
- `TestDispatcher` now delegates to `TestScheduler` for timing, clock,
RNG, and task scheduling
- `PlatformScheduler` implements the `Scheduler` trait for production
use
- GPUI executors wrap scheduler executors, selecting `TestScheduler` or
`PlatformScheduler` based on environment
- Unified blocking logic via `Scheduler::block()`
### Dead Code Cleanup
- Deleted orphaned `crates/gpui/src/platform/platform_scheduler.rs`
(older incompatible version)
## Intentional Removals
### `spawn_labeled` and `deprioritize` removed
The `TaskLabel` system (`spawn_labeled`, `deprioritize`) was removed
during this integration. It was only used in a few places for test
ordering control.
cc @maxbrunsfeld @as-cii - The new priority-weighted scheduling in
`TestScheduler` provides similar functionality through
`Priority::High/Medium/Low`. If `deprioritize` is important for specific
test scenarios, we could add it back to the scheduler crate. Let me know
if this is blocking anything.
### `start_waiting` / `finish_waiting` debug methods removed
Replaced by `TracingWaker` in `TestScheduler` - run tests with
`PENDING_TRACES=1` to see backtraces of pending futures when parking is
forbidden.
### Realtime Priority removed
The realtime priority feature was unused in the codebase. I'd prefer to
reintroduce it when we have an actual use case, as the implementation
(bounded channel with capacity 1) could potentially block the main
thread. Having a real use case will help us validate the design.

Previously, `detail` was not included in resolvable properties, which
prevented LSP-compliant servers from lazily resolving it.
In relation to this, I also investigated vtsls issues:

My conclusion is that regardless of whether Zed registers `detail` in
resolvable properties, vtsls always lazily resolves `detail`. However, I
understand that Zed's `resolve_completions` has been improved to handle
such "misbehaving" servers gracefully already, so I expect that adding
`detail` to resolvable properties will not cause any issues.
In fact, since Zed can lazy update all properties of completion items,
it might be appropriate to include all properties as resolvable except
for `label` (which is explicitly tested for consistency) and `data`
(which is used for resolution itself once).
However, since I'm uncertain if this is entirely correct, this commit
only adds `detail` to resolvable properties, as it was required to be
supported by LSP clients up to version 3.16.

I wanted a way to make it easy to figure out which version of a language
server Zed is running. Now, you get a tooltip when hovering on a
language server in the Language Servers popover.

This PR also fixes a bug. We had existing code to open a tooltip on
these language server entrees and display the language server message,
which was never fully wired up for `CustomEntry`s. Now, in this PR, we
will show show either version, message, or both, in the documentation
aside, depending on what the server has given us.
Mostly done with Droid (using GPT-5.2), with manual review and multiple
follow ups to guide it into using existing patterns in the codebase,
when it did something abnormal.

We've been considering removing workspace-hack for a couple reasons:
- Lukas ran into a situation where its build script seemed to be causing
spurious rebuilds. This seems more likely to be a cargo bug than an
issue with workspace-hack itself (given that it has an empty build
script), but we don't necessarily want to take the time to hunt that
down right now.
- Marshall mentioned hakari interacts poorly with automated crate
updates (in our case provided by rennovate) because you'd need to have
`cargo hakari generate && cargo hakari manage-deps` after their changes
and we prefer to not have actions that make commits.
Currently removing workspace-hack causes our workspace to grow from
~1700 to ~2000 crates being built (depending on platform), which is
mainly a problem when you're building the whole workspace or running
tests across the the normal and remote binaries (which is where
feature-unification nets us the most sharing). It doesn't impact
incremental times noticeably when you're just iterating on `-p zed`, and
we'll hopefully get these savings back in the future when
rust-lang/cargo#14774 (which re-implements the functionality of hakari)
is finished.

Instead of holding a connection for potentially long LSP queries (e.g.
rust-analyzer might take minutes to look up a definition), disconnect
right after sending the initial request and handle the follow-up
responses later.
As a bonus, this allows to cancel previously sent request on the local
Collab clients' side due to this, as instead of holding and serving the
old connection, local clients now can stop previous requests, if needed.
Current PR does not convert all LSP requests to the new paradigm, but
the problematic ones, deprecating `MultiLspQuery` and moving all its
requests to the new paradigm.

We used to not respond at all to requests that we didn't have a handler
for, which is yuck. It may have left the language server waiting for the
response for no good reason. The other (worse) finding is that we did
not have a full definition of an Error type for LSP, which made it so
that a spec-compliant language server would fail to deserialize our
response (with an error). This then could lead to all sorts of
funkiness, including hangs and crashes on the language server's part.

improper termination by waiting for shutdown confirmation before closing
connections.
The major change in schemars 1.0 is that now schemas are represented as
plain json values instead of specialized datatypes. This allows for more
concise construction and manipulation.
This change also improves how settings schemas are generated. Each top
level settings type was being generated as a full root schema including
the definitions it references, and then these were merged. This meant
generating all shared definitions multiple times, and might have bugs in
cases where there are two types with the same names.
Now instead the schemar generator's `definitions` are built up as they
normally are and the `Settings` trait no longer has a special
`json_schema` method. To handle types that have schema that vary at
runtime (`FontFamilyName`, `ThemeName`, etc), values of
`ParameterizedJsonSchema` are collected by `inventory`, and the schema
definitions for these types are replaced.
To help check that this doesn't break anything, I tried to minimize the
overall [schema
diff](https://gist.github.com/mgsloan/1de549def20399d6f37943a3c1583ee7)
with some patches to make the order more consistent + schemas also
sorted with `jq -S .`. A skim of the diff shows that the diffs come
from:
* `enum: ["value"]` turning into `const: "value"`
* Differences in handling of newlines for "description"
* Schemas for generic types no longer including the parameter name, now
all disambiguation is with numeric suffixes
* Enums now using `oneOf` instead of `anyOf`.

buffer.cs) and on-type-formatting (in lsp_store.rs) concurrently
calculate indentation using the same buffer snapshot.

Implements the workspace diagnostics pulling, and replaces "pull
diagnostics every open editors' buffer" strategy with "pull changed
buffer's diagnostics" + "schedule workspace diagnostics pull" for the
rest of the diagnostics.
This means that if the server does not support the workspace diagnostics
and does not return more in linked files, only the currently edited
buffer has its diagnostics updated.
This is better than the existing implementation that causes a lot of
diagnostics pulls to be done instead, and we can add more heuristics on
top later for querying more diagnostics.

# Brief
This is draft PR that implements the LSP `textDocument/diagnostic`
command. The goal is to receive your feedback and establish further
steps towards fully implementing this command. I tried to re-use
existing method and structures to ensure:
1. The existing functionality works as before
2. There is no interference between the diagnostics sent by a server and
the diagnostics requested by a client.
The current implementation is done via a new LSP command
`GetDocumentDiagnostics` that is sent when a buffer is saved and when a
buffer is edited. There is a new method called `pull_diagnostic` that is
called for such events. It has debounce to ensure we don't spam a server
with commands every time the buffer is edited. Probably, we don't need
the debounce when the buffer is saved.
All in all, the goal is basically to get your feedback and ensure I am
on the right track. Thanks!
