csv_preview: Evolve into tabular data preview (#60768)
# Objective

The MVP version of CSV preview is ready. However it's trivial to extend
it to TSV & other formats.

## Solution

This PR does exactly that - switching from CSV only to any tabular data
(TSV/CSV/PSV/SSV).
1. added `tsv`/`psv`/`ssv` support
2. renamed action/eye button & crate
3. added `.psv`/`.ssv` types to use database icon (similar to
`csv`/`tsv`)
2. Added `Table` svg icon (was previously missing) so preview is not
longer using book icon (from markdown preview).

> NOTE: Crate renaming will be done separately (as it's mechanical work
& I don't want to mix it with logic changes)

## Testing

Opened csv/tsv/psv/ssv files in peview

Add a bunch of stray design refinement throughout (#60937)
This PR is a collection of grab bag UI design refinements across the
entire app. Most of them are minor icon fixes/standardizations, spacing,
and sizing tweaks.

The one change that ended up getting a bit bigger than I initially
anticipated is the debugger panel tabs improvements; added a bunch of
tweaks there to make it look slicker. A relevant change is a small
one-line change to the GPUI div element where it wouldn't add drag-over
styles to elements that aren't initially a hitbox target. Given I wanted
to pull off the drop indicator you see on the video below, this turned
out to be needed:

picker: Improve multi-select discoverability and rendering (#60919)
This PR reworks how multi-select mode is rendered in pickers (only used
by the file finder and text finder).

The "Multi Select" entry previously lived inside the footer's Actions
menu, which was hard to discover and its toggle checkmark misaligned the
menu's keybinding column. This PR changes to an icon button at the
far-roght edge of the search editor, with a tooltip showing the
keybinding to toggle it.

Also made each list item use the actual Checkbox component instead of a
bespoke re-implementation of it. And in doing so, added a few design
improvements to the list item so that it received the checkbox while
preserving proper styles for each interaction state, as well as
displaying the keybinding to select the item or check the item.

Here's a quick video, showing these changes off:

Release Notes:

- Improved multi-select in the file finder and text finder: the toggle
now lives in the search bar with a `cmd-shift-s` keybinding, and
selection checkboxes render inside list items.

agent_ui: Replace thread controls with slash commands (#59974)
Closes AI-432

The turn-end action buttons in the agent panel (scroll to top, scroll to
most recent prompt, open as markdown, thumbs up/down, share/sync) are
now exposed as local slash commands in the message editor instead of
buttons rendered at the end of each turn. The actions themselves are
unchanged — this is just a different way to access them.

Release Notes:

- Changed some of the agent panel's turn-end action buttons into slash
commands in the message editor.

Add llama.cpp as a language model provider (#59964)
Hi there, I'm Celina from Hugging Face! Opening this PR to add
[llama.cpp](https://llama.app) as a model provider

# Objective

Today Zed users running llama.cpp have to fall back to the generic
OpenAI-compatible provider, which means no auto-discovery (the router
mode (`llama serve`) discovers models from the cache and loads them on
demand) and manual configuration of every model and its capabilities.
This PR makes `llama.cpp` a first-class provider with the same
auto-discovery experience.

## Solution

- Add a `llama_cpp` client crate with the OpenAI-compatible chat types
(`/v1/chat/completions`, including `reasoning_content`) and the
discovery types (`/v1/models`, `/props`), mirroring the existing
`ollama` crate.
- Add the provider in
`crates/language_models/src/provider/llama_cpp.rs`, modeled on the
Ollama provider (settings, configuration view, event mapping).
- Auto discover served models and their context length and tool/vision
support from `/props`. Set `auto_discover: false` to list models
manually instead.
- An unloaded model can't be inspected without loading it, so it is
listed with optimistic defaults (large context, tools enabled) and is
usable from the first message; its real context length and tool support
are filled in once it loads. These live behind a shared map, so a model
already selected in an open conversation picks them up without being
re-selected.
- Show load progress. The provider subscribes to `/models/sse` and
surfaces each model's load progress (e.g. "Loading weights 42%") in its
display name, reconciling stale labels against `/v1/models`. Builds
without `/models/sse` degrade gracefully - no progress, and no
capability refresh after the initial discovery.
- Add settings (`api_url`, `auto_discover`, `available_models` with
per-model `max_tokens` / `supports_tools` / `supports_images`,
`context_window`, `custom_headers`), the provider icon, a `default.json`
entry, and documentation under "Use a Local Model".

No new dependencies: the crate reuses existing workspace dependencies,
and shared state uses `std::sync::RwLock`.

## Testing

- Unit tests in both new crates cover wire/response parsing, model
discovery for single-model and router shapes, the cold-start optimistic
defaults, the in-place capability refresh once a model loads, and the
`/models/sse` event handling (state changes, load failure, load
progress).
- Built Zed locally and ran it against a local `llama serve` router:
confirmed models are discovered without manual configuration, that the
first message works before a model has finished loading, that load
progress is shown in the model's display name while it loads, and that
the reported context length and tool support refine to the model's real
values once it finishes loading.
- Platforms: tested on macOS (Apple Silicon).

- [x] Tests cover the new/changed behavior
- [x] Performance impact has been considered and is acceptable

## Showcase

The generation speed (tokens/sec) depends on the machine you're running
the model, here it's a Apple M3 Max 64GB running a 4-bit quant of
https://huggingface.co/Qwen/Qwen3.5-35B-A3B. For the load progress
status, make sure to upgrade your llama.cpp version to the latest build.

thread_view: Add refinements to compaction UI design (#58926)
Here are the things I tried to tackle on this PR:

- Make the compaction call stand out a bit more from other regular tool
calls
- Make text size of the compaction's markdown output be consistent with
the thread body text
- Don't show regular thread loading spinner while compaction is in
progress, given that has its own spinner
- Add a different icon than scissors for compaction and add it to the
autocomplete menu so its consistent w/ skills items

title_bar: Improve design for call controls (#58691)
For the longest time, we've had a labeled "Share" button on the title
bar whenever you're in a call. However, it was extremely easy to click
that button thinking you'd be sharing _your screen_ instead of your
project. At the end of the day, there wasn't any specific cue that'd
allow you to know what you'd be sharing. This is why people just assumed
you'd share the screen, which is arguably way more common than sharing
the project. We've seen users bump into this confusion countless times,
and this also even happens to us (the whole Zed staff) weekly whenever
we're in meetings.

So, this PR changes that button to be an icon button instead, using a
folder icon to better communicate it means sharing the project. I also
took advantage of the opportunity to change the approach we use for
adding these buttons, using `when` instead of `children.push`; I think
the former is just easier to understand, allowing to more easily picture
the UI in your (my) head. Lastly, also improved what we display in the
tooltip for the project share button, by showing the names of all
projects you'll be sharing, as well as the tooltip that displayed call
diagnostics.

markdown: Add ability to wrap/unwrap codeblock content (#57312)
This PR adds an icon button to Markdown codeblocks allowing to control
whether or not the content should be wrapped. At the moment, this is not
hard-persisted, meaning that 1) wrapping text in one codeblock instance
does not affect others, and 2) the codeblock will be reset every time
its view is recreated (i.e., closing and opening a Markdown Preview tab,
an agent thread, etc.). I intentionally kept it simple just to see how
it feels, but we can certainly consider a setting later on.

editor: Introduce Bookmarks (#54174)
Adds basic bookmark functionality to the editor, allowing users to mark
lines and later navigate between them. This is an MVP and will later be
expanded with a picker, vim marks integration and syntax tree based
bookmark positions. In this MVP bookmarks shift under external edits.

# UI
## Adding/Removing bookmarks
To add a bookmark:
- run the toggle bookmark action
- hold secondary and click in the gutter
- open the context menu by right clicking in the gutter and select add
bookmark To remove a bookmark:
- run the toggle bookmark action
- click on the bookmarks icon in the gutter
- open the context menu by right clicking in the gutter and select
remove bookmark

remove all bookmarks with `workspace: clear bookmarks`

# Implementation
This mirrors the implementation of breakpoints. The rendering of the
gutter was refactored to make place for bookmark icons and buttons:
- Code was extracted to a `Gutter` struct
- Runnables, breakpoints and bookmarks are now collected ahead of
layouting. Just before layouting we remove the items that collide and do
not have priority.
- The `phantom_breakpoint` is replaced by a `gutter_hover_button`

## In depth phantom breakpoint discussion:
This was phantom_breakpoint. It worked as follows:
 - A fake breakpoint was added to the list of breakpoints.
- While rendering the breakpoints it a breakpoint turned out to be fake
it would get a different description and look.
- The breakpoint list was edited run_indicators ("play buttons")
rendering to removes the fake breakpoint if it collided.

This would not scale to more functionality. Now we only render
breakpoints, bookmarks and run indicators. Then we render a button if
there is not breakpoint, bookmark or run indicator already present. We
can do so since the rendering of such "gutter indicators" has been
refactored into two phases:
 - collect the items.
 - render them if no higher priority item collides.

This is far easier and more readable which enabled me to easily take the
phantom_breakpoint system and use it for placing bookmarks as well :)

Note: this was previously merged but it needed a better squashed commit
message. For the actual PR see: 51404. This reverts commit
7e523a2d2b.

editor: Bookmarks MVP (#51404)
Closes #4526

Adds basic bookmark functionality to the editor, allowing users to mark
lines and later navigate between them.

### What's new

**Toggling bookmarks**
Users can toggle a bookmark on the current line(s) via the `editor:
toggle bookmark` action. A bookmark icon appears in the gutter for each
bookmarked line.

**Navigation**
Two new actions, `editor: go to next bookmark` and `editor: go to
previous bookmark`, navigate between bookmarks in the current buffer,
wrapping around at the ends of the buffer.

**Viewing all bookmarks**
`editor: view bookmarks` opens all bookmarks across the project in a
multibuffer, similar to how references and diagnostics are surfaced.

**Clearing bookmarks**
`workspace: clear bookmarks` removes all bookmarks in the current
project.

**Persistence**
Bookmarks are persisted to the workspace database and restored when the
workspace is reopened. They are stored as `(path, row)` pairs and
resolved back to text anchors. Out of range or unresolvable bookmarks
are skipped with a logged warning.

**Gutter rendering**
Bookmark icons are rendered in the gutter using the existing gutter
button layout system, consistent with breakpoints. They are suppressed
on lines that already show a breakpoint or phantom breakpoint indicator.
A new `gutter.bookmarks` setting (defaulting to `true`) controls their
visibility.

### What's left

- [x] Lazily load buffers that have bookmarks
- [x] Clean up test boilerplate
- [ ] Assign default keybindings
- [ ] Compare line of saved bookmarks with current buffer (gray out the
"stale" bookmarks)

### What's next (and nice to haves)
- [ ] Resilience against external edits
- [ ] Save column position with the bookmark
- [ ] Bookmarks attached to syntactic structures?
- [ ] Labeled bookmarks?

---

Release Notes:

- Added bookmarks: toggle bookmarks on lines with `editor: toggle
bookmark`, navigate with `editor: go to next bookmark` / `editor: go to
previous bookmark`, view all bookmarks with `editor: view bookmarks`,
and clear with `workspace: clear bookmarks`. Bookmarks are shown in the
gutter and persisted across sessions.

Rename Archive view to Thread History (#54075)
This renames the Archive view to Thread History in all user-facing
surfaces. The concept of archiving a thread (the verb/state) remains
unchanged — only the view that lists all threads is renamed, since it
shows both active and archived entries.

## Changes

- Rename `ViewAllThreads` action → `ToggleThreadHistory`
- Context-sensitive tooltip: "Show Thread History" / "Hide Thread
History"
- Update action doc comment to reference "history" instead of "archive
view"
- Telemetry event: `Thread History Viewed`
- `SerializedSidebarView::Archive` → `History` (with `#[serde(alias =
"Archive")]` for backward compat)
- Add a Lucide-based clock icon adapted to 16×16 / 1.2px stroke
- Switch the history toggle button to use the new clock icon
- Update all three platform keymaps

- Renamed the threads Archive view to Thread History and updated its
icon to a clock.

agent_ui: Improve the new thread worktree UX (#53941)
Closes https://github.com/zed-industries/zed/issues/53262

- Remove the ability to pick a branch from the agent panel; delegate
this to the title bar picker
- Make the worktree creation earger, just as you selected whether you
want to create it from main or current branch
- Remove flicker when creating a new worktree and switching to a
previously existing one
- Improve some UI stuff: how we display that a worktree is
creating/loading, the branch and worktree icons, etc.
- Fixed a bug where worktrees in a detached HEAD state wouldn't show up
in the worktree pickers

A big part of the diff of this PR is the removal of everything involved
with the `StartThreadIn` enum/the set up involved in only creating the
worktree by the time of the first prompt send.

recent_projects: Make the currently active project visible in the picker (#53302)
This PR improves the recent projects picker in the context of
multi-workspace:

- The currently active project now appears in the "This Window" section
with a checkmark indicator. Clicking it simply dismisses the picker,
since there's nothing to switch to. This feels like a better UX because
it gives you visual confirmation of where you are.
- The remove button is hidden for the current project entry, both in the
row and the footer, to prevent accidentally removing the workspace
you're actively using.
- The "Add to Workspace" button now uses a more descriptive icon
(`FolderOpenAdd`) and shows a meta tooltip clarifying that it adds the
project as a multi-root folder project.

The primary click/enter behavior remains unchanged—it opens the selected
project in the current window's multi-workspace. The "Open in New
Window" action continues to be available via the icon button or
shift+enter.

This PR adds a "Resolve with Agent" button in each merge conflict block,
as well as "Resolve Conflicts with Agents" button on a notification for
resolving conflicts across all the files that have any. When clicking on
either of these buttons, the agent panel opens up with a template prompt
auto-submitted. For the first case, the specific content of the merge
block is already attached as context for the agent to act quickly, given
it's a local and small context. For the second case (all conflicts
across the codebase), the prompt just indicates to the agent which files
have conflicts and then it's up for the agent to see them. This felt
like a simpler way to go as opposed to extracting the content for all
merge conflicts across all damaged files.

Here's how the UI looks like:
