refactor: replace hand-rolled API wrapper and polling loop with shared helpers (#927) 
- hostkey: replace 22-line raw curl wrapper with generic_cloud_api
  delegation (adds retry logic, standardizes METHOD ENDPOINT [BODY] signature)
- exoscale: replace 30-line hand-rolled polling loop with
  generic_wait_for_instance via thin CLI wrapper

Authentication

To use HOSTKEY spawn scripts, you need a HOSTKEY API key:

  1. Log in to HOSTKEY
  2. Navigate to API settings in your account
  3. Generate a new API key
  4. Set the HOSTKEY_API_KEY environment variable

Non-Interactive Mode

Environment Variables

  • HOSTKEY_API_KEY - Your HOSTKEY API key (required)
  • HOSTKEY_SERVER_NAME - Server name (prompted if not set)
  • HOSTKEY_LOCATION - Data center location: nl, de, fi, is, tr, us (default: nl)
  • HOSTKEY_INSTANCE_PRESET - Instance preset ID (default: 1)
  • OPENROUTER_API_KEY - Your OpenRouter API key (prompted via OAuth if not set)
