Two changes to update behavior: 1. Auto-update is now opt-in via SPAWN_AUTO_UPDATE=1 (default: notify only) 2. Even with auto-update on, only patch versions install automatically (e.g. 1.0.0 → 1.0.5 yes, 1.0.0 → 1.1.0 no) This pins users to a stable major.minor — bug fixes flow automatically but new features require an explicit `spawn update`.
