The tolerating config layer stays: it accepts hand-written config.yml files that the strict serde schema would reject (numeric strings, key case, nesting, unknown keys as warnings) and it is covered by tests, including parity with config.yml. Removing it would save ~300 lines and stop accepting configurations that work today. Decision recorded in docs/REFACTORING.md, which now reads as a finished plan rather than an open one. |
