Give users a public account of beta, RC and stable expectations so they can
choose an update channel and understand how releases earn promotion.
Document fixed candidates, observation periods and rollback guidance, with
links from the main documentation entry points and matching shipped docs.
Found while triaging #1643 and #1637: both fields were stored via
system.json and accepted, validated, and echoed by the settings API,
but nothing ever consumed them. The unattended update schedule is owned
entirely by the systemd timer install.sh renders, and no UI control ever
set the fields, so the API persisted a schedule preference that could
never take effect.
Remove the fields from config.Config, SystemSettings, the settings
handlers, and the frontend config type, along with the interval
validation and the .env AUTO_UPDATE_CHECK_INTERVAL rewrite (a legacy
line is now preserved verbatim). Legacy clients that still send the
keys get them silently ignored instead of validated, and a system.json
written before the removal still loads cleanly - both behaviors are
pinned by new tests. User docs no longer describe the phantom schedule
settings.

Checksum and SSHSIG verification prove the downloaded artifact matches
what was published, not that it can run on this host or is the version
the user approved. The apply pipeline previously swapped the binary and
exited, relying on systemd to restart into an unproven executable; a
wrong-arch fallback asset or unstamped build would take Pulse down with
the backup left unused.
ApplyUpdate now locates the extracted binary and probes it with
--version before the backup and swap stages, failing the update with
zero changes applied when the probe fails or reports a version other
than the apply target. Same pattern the agent updater already uses.
Pinned in the deployment-installability contract with
internal/updates/selftest_test.go as the owned proof surface.
Update docs to reflect the simplified temperature monitoring architecture:
- Remove references to pulse-sensor-proxy throughout
- Update TEMPERATURE_MONITORING.md to focus on unified agent approach
- Update CONFIGURATION.md, DEPLOYMENT_MODELS.md, FAQ.md
- Remove SECURITY_CHANGELOG.md (proxy-specific security notes)
- Clarify current recommended setup in various guides
- Major updates to README.md and docs/README.md for Pulse v5
- Added technical deep-dives for Pulse Pro (docs/PULSE_PRO.md) and AI Patrol (docs/AI.md)
- Updated Prometheus metrics documentation and Helm schema for metrics separation
- Refreshed security, installation, and deployment documentation for unified agent models
- Cleaned up legacy summary files
Add contextual help icons throughout the UI to improve feature
discoverability. Users can click (?) icons to see explanations
with examples for settings they might not understand.
- HelpIcon component with click-to-open popover
- Centralized help content registry in /content/help/
- FeatureTip component for dismissible contextual tips
- Help added to: alert delay, AI endpoints, update channel
Adds IncludeAllDeployments option to show all deployments, not just
problem ones (where replicas don't match desired). This provides parity
with the existing --kube-include-all-pods flag.
- Add IncludeAllDeployments to kubernetesagent.Config
- Add --kube-include-all-deployments flag and PULSE_KUBE_INCLUDE_ALL_DEPLOYMENTS env var
- Update collectDeployments to respect the new flag
- Add test for IncludeAllDeployments functionality
- Update UNIFIED_AGENT.md documentation
